Biography
Voonic2 is a Canadian chiptunes rock band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2019. The band consists of NazoNo (bass guitar, chiptunes and drum programming) and aRtPG (vocals and guitars). Inspired by bands like Anamanaguchi and Yellow Magic Orchestra, Voonic2 fuses beautiful retro 8-bit soundscapes with powerful guitar riffs and melodic bass lines.
What started as a solo project by NazoNo around 2011 has grown into one of Quebec's most energetic chiptunes rock acts. Each concert presents a narrative experience from start to finish, driving audience energy with songs that make fans feel as though they've stepped directly into an arcade video game.
Voonic2 has featured at prominent Video Game Music (VGM) and anime festivals including BonusStage (Canada), ÑoñoParty (Chile), Otakuthon (Canada), and VGMCon (USA), sharing stages with renowned VGM artists like Bit Brigade, Master Boot Record, and Mega Ran.
They composed the complete soundtrack for the mobile game King Cashing, and their song "Zombie Attack" was featured in the game Depths of Insanity. Following their 2021 EP "D.T.U.", they released their full debut album "Knights of the Multiverse" in May 2023.
